Chipotle teams up with US Olympians for menu collaboration

Chipotle has launched new, limited-time menu items, exclusive to its app and website, with U.S. Olympians Taylor Fritz (tennis), Sarah Hughes (beach volleyball), Anthony Edwards (basketball), Sophia Smith (soccer) and Jagger Eaton (skateboarding).

The “Team Chipotle” menu includes:

  • The Anthony Edwards Bowl: Half chicken, half steak, brown rice, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili corn salsa and lettuce
  • The Sophia Smith Burrito: Chicken, brown rice, light black beans, light pinto beans, fresh tomato salsa, tomatillo-red chile salsa, roasted chile-corn salsa, sour cream and cheese
  • The Taylor Fritz Bowl: Double chicken, white rice, sour cream, cheese and guacamole
  • The Sara Hughes Burrito: Double steak, white rice, black beans, cheese and lettuce
  • The Jagger Eaton Burrito: Chicken, white rice, black beans, tomatillo red chili salsa, roasted chili corn salsa, cheese

To support the new menu, Chipotle also launched new episodes of its “Unwrapped” series, featuring behind-the-scenes content with each athlete. The profile videos showcase what it takes to compete at the highest level of their respective sports.

“Every athlete on Team Chipotle has had a unique journey,” Chris Brandt, Chief Brand Officer, said in a statement. “By highlighting their stories and how Chipotle has been an important part of their training regimens, we hope to inspire and fuel the next generation of great American athletes.”

Chipotle has had a lot of success with digitally exclusive menus curated in collaboration with celebrities. Its 2023 fajita quesadilla campaign featuring TikTok influencers Alexis Frost and Keith Lee, for example, drove two of the company’s best digital sales days ever.

The brand will also bring gold foil burritos back to the U.S. starting July 25 and serve gold foil burritos at its restaurants in France for the first time. The brand last celebrated American athletes with gold foil in the summer of 2021.
