Netherlands make 3 substitutions for match against Romania in Euro 2024 round of 16 – Football

MUNICH (AP) — Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman has surprisingly included striker Steven Bergwijn in one of three changes for the round of 16 of the European Championship against Romania on Tuesday.

The Netherlands enter the match with a 3-2 defeat to Austria in the final group match, but still finished third in the knockout phase as one of the best teams.

Bergwijn is yet to play at Euro 2024 and replaces Donyell Malen. Denzel Dumfries returns as right back and Lutsharel Geertruida drops to the bench.

Xavi Simons replaces Johannes Veerman.

Romania top the group and coach Edward Iord?nescu has made two changes from the draw against Slovakia. Vasile Mogo? and Dennis Man replace Florinel Coman and the suspended Nicu?or Bancu.
